Chester Murder Suspect Arrested

On Tuesday, April 29, at approximately 1700 hours the U.S. Marshals Task Force with the assistance of the Upland Police Department converged on a home in the 1000 block of Church Street in Upland Borough. Through diligent investigation by Chester and CID detectives, a homicide warrant was signed on Monday afternoon by Judge Spencer Seaton for the arrest of Breon Lawrence 21, for the murder of 18 year old Jahkil Swain on April 11. Swain was a passenger in a vehicle when it was fired upon in the area of 13th & Crosby Streets.

Lawrence’s whereabouts lead U.S.Marshals to the Church Street address where the warrant was executed. A brief struggle ensued as Lawrence attempted to flee from the residence and police. U.S. Marshals made an immediate capture without further incident.  Lawrence will face additional narcotic and weapon offense charges by Upland, PD.

  1. The mother of the deceased was at the Council/Community meeting April 24th and vowed that her son's killer would be brought to justice. Good for the UPD and CPD.
