Chester mayor says stay off the streets
CHESTER, PA- Hon. Mayor John A. Linder, Chester City Fire Commissioner James Johnson and Police Commissioner Joseph Bail Jr. have assumed emergency status response position for the winter storm impacting the tri-state area. Chester Residents are encouraged to stay off area streets and indoors unless absolutely necessary, in order to help facilitate highway crew efforts to clear roadways. PENNDOT, Chester City Department of Public Works, and contracted crews are undertaking clearing operations throughout the city, and expected to continue into the evening hours. Residents are encouraged to keep flashlight and batteries in an accessible, dry area, charge cell phones for emergency use, and clear snow away from fire hydrants in front of their homes, and on their streets. Residents are also asked to shovel walkways in front of their homes, and refrain from shoveling snow into the streets. In the event of an emergency, citizens are instructed to telephone 911.
I assume he meant, stay off the streets.
ReplyDeleteSo when are they going to get started
ReplyDeleteThis city never removes the snow they just let it sit in the streets. It crazy in a city this size that this can go on and on time and again. It like people do care, you can tell when your out of city limits just by how clean the streets are after a snow storm.
DeleteI saw them today 1/23/14
ReplyDeleteThere is two truck in the city with snow plows on the front of them, and they are always in the up position.
