Chester to hold vigil honoring Mandela

The local chapter of the National Congress of Black Women, along with two Delaware County chapters of the NAACP, will be holding a memorial vigil and celebration to honor the life of former South African President Nelson Mandela at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Martin Luther King Park, located at 6th and Engle Streets in Chester.

Great gesture, but consider taking the vigil indoors. I can’t imagine older folks wanting to be out in the cold and dark.

    1. I was at work during that hour and probably wouldn't have attended in the cold and snow. But, I see there was another such event on Thursday inside the library. I didn't see any notice. I could have attended that one had I known. Did you go, non slave?
