Chester Community Charter Charter School To Graduate More Than 250 Students

Chester, PA., June 10, 2013 – On Monday, June 10th, and Tuesday, June 11th, 130 and 165 eighth-grade students will graduate, respectively, from the west and east campuses of Chester Community Charter School (CCCS), here, the largest K-8 charter school in Pennsylvania. Hon. Mayor John Linder, City of Chester, and more than 650 parents, administrators, faculty, and community members are expected to attend the two commencement ceremonies, which will be held at the Clarion Hotel, in Essington, PA.

Continuing its tradition of excellence in preparing its students for secondary school, CCCS’s graduates will continue their educations at the following institutions: The Tatnall School, Wilmington, DE; Tower Hill School, Wilmington, DE; Wilmington Friends School, Wilmington, DE; LaSalle College High School, Wyndmoor, PA; Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti High School, Philadelphia, PA; Cardinal O’Hara High School, Springfield, PA; Archbishop John Carroll High School, Wayne, PA; Salesianum School, Wilmington, DE; St. Elizabeth High School, Wilmington, DE; Ursuline Academy, Wilmington, DE; St. Mark’s High School, Wilmington, DE; Padua Academy, Wilmington, DE; Milton Hershey School, Hershey, PA; Concord Christian Academy, Wilmington, DE; Archmere Academy, Claymont, DE; Charter High School for Architecture and Design, Philadelphia, PA; and Chester High School, Chester, PA.


Keynote speakers for CCCS’ west campus graduation include Omoya Croll, valedictorian and honors award recipient for language arts, math, and social studies, and LaNaysha Townes, a representative selected by teachers. Alexis Wrease, valedictorian and honors award recipient for English and math, and LaeJanette Morrell, who has attended CCCS from kindergarten through eighth grade, will speak at the east campus commencement.

  1. Why have I never received a press release like this from the Chester Upland School District? It would be so nice to know and share when their kids graduate and some information about the graduation ceremony.

Stefan, last time I recall reading something in Delaware Daily Times there were issues that Chester Charter School was not living up to its name, but from this graduation and some of the news coming from PTA and not to mention the parents they are very well pleased with the education and services provided to their kids who attend. CCCS actually put out full four year scholarships to these students and what parent here in Chester, PA don't appreciate that. KUDOS TO CCCS, THEIR STUDENTS, AND THEIR PARENTS WHO ALWAYS COME OUT TO PTA AND OTHER SCHOOL FUNCTIONS...
