  1. You have got to be kidding. Let's see...Pat Worrell who is what? a real estate agent? or an intelligent man like Pileggi?...hmmm...let me think about that?...

    1. So you would ignore the fact that Sen Pileggi has voted in favor of suppressing your vote? He also voted in favor of terminating general assistance for those who most need it. He voted in favor to cut education funding. And when was the last time you seen him in the city of Chester. Look at the state of the city of Chester!!! Is this the kind of representation you want? Yes I'm a wannabe! I want to be someone who speaks up and steps up for what is right.

    2. Senator Pileggi helped get $10 million for Chester Upland Schools when the district ran out of money.

  2. She also is a real estate agent and I had a cash client for her and she never got with them on a timely fashion. I know the client I referred was very dismayed because he knows that I always handle business properly. I would like to see more in her commercial about her credentials and what she is intending overall to do. I applaud her for attempt, but The Senator has been doing many other positive things in our community for years and has a staff and team that are impeccable, responsive, and always available. I also know that she is not originally from this area, nor does she seem friendly to or understand the reentry community. The people will speak on November 4th and when they do if she wins, I will support those in authority, our leaders as we all should do. Our unifying of agendas, works, and efforts in the end will be what changes our communities. This commercial if it was her first should have been highlighting her abilities, not bashing someone. That is is what is wrong with our system now. We put each other down instead of uplifting each other and showcasing our positive achievments.

    1. The Election is on November 6 not 4.

    2. Oh, that's how you respond to his post by correcting him only. You failed to address anything he stated. Is it possible you could not garner an intelligent response. If your lack of response is evident on this blog it will certainly be evident in Harrisburg. Typical, when you don't know what to say, you attack.Open you eyes people, she just proved what I have been thinking all along. No substance.

  3. Please keep thinking about it, because Senator Pileggi might be intelligent, however he does not represent all the people "47%". He supports the rich, like the millionaires filling their pockets with profits made from Charter Schools (not about kids or the people but about the support of the rich); how about the people in Chester who do not support him, why because they are tire of supporting someone who does not represent them; Oh and how about the ID Voter's law which I believe Senator Pelliggi had a lot to do with in writing that law, and for sure knowing that he voted for it (his phylosophy - can't get the middle/low class votes so I will stop them from voting). That's pretty sick. So what good is his intelligents if he does not use it for the right things. In summation, so what if Patricia Worrell is in Real Estate, are their not any intelligent folks in that field, can she not support her constinuents in an appropriate manner? By the way, that was a real embarassing statement to those who are in the real estate field.

    1. I did everybody dropped the ball it sometime. But I learned that in the end what matters soon does the best job after dropping the ball. In elections I've learned also that the underdog can win.I'm not counting anybody out whoever wins I don't think will help change my life that significantly. The problems that plague my community and my situation have to be worked out from within. A ghetto neighborhood that neither candidate rarely walks.

  4. Not an embarrassing statement. So what is she all about? All I can see from that commercial is how she likes to bash Senator Pileggi. There is nothing in that commercial that would give me an idea of who she is, at all. Anyone can say they can do a better job, but after seeing that, no way could I ever support her for Senator. And this is not just about Chester, the Senator covers more areas than the city.

    1. You are right anonymous. She is all about nothing. She has run for so many offices I wonder if dog catcher is next. She only gets support from this blog for a reason...

    3. Does your profile mention your affilliation with ACORN the now defunct fraudulent agency? As someone stated previously Ms. Worrell, it's easy to say what you will do just to become a MJD or Senator or as someone stated a dog catcher. You are probably a very nice lady but you clearly don't strike me as a powerhouse or leader but a follower and I say that based on your attempt just last year to be a judge. And yes, you can run for any office you want but it simply shows that you are not grounded. I have been in your "company" and you have said anything that impressed me nor anything that I have not already heard, empty promises. I believe if it ain't broke don't fix it. I vote content, not color. Since you like to run for office, how come you didn't run for State Rep, he hasn't done anything? Chester is in no position to have TWO ineffective leaders. Your opponent has served less time then the Rep and has done twice as much. And one more thing, I think you would be offended if someone put words in your mouth. Just to clarify, Roomney said 47%, not Pileggi. With all the foolery that's going on in Chester would you like people to say that you agreed with Kirkland when he told those students to shut-up and that you said it and not him? For all I know maybe you do because you certainly don't strike me as the type to form your own opinions. You should be ashamed of yourself for making that statement. Just because I may support a party doesn't mean that I agree with everything stupid or otherwise that comes out of their mouths. I say all that to say as an intelligent black woman you should know better than to put words in someones mouth. As a true Democrat I have much respect for the ability to split my vote!

    4. Who are you Mr. Pat Worrell? You are not even from Chester. Why doesn't your profile list where you are from. Senator Pileggi was born in Chester. He has experience as Chester's Mayor. He believes in the people a lot more than you do. You are a plant who want to hold office. Stop your lying (Mr.?) Worrell from Boston. Someone needs to investigate what you are all about and it is not about the people of Chester.

  6. The other guy won't send an ad, I believe this conversation is beneath him and he will not participate - not his style. He does'nt need to because he does not need Chester votes to win the election anyway, the rest of his districts are who put him in office - the districts he feels most comfortable in. I am sorry, but you will not see him in your neighborhood, why because he does not need your vote to win. Bad politics!

    1. I'd agree with most of that. The bad politics part I question. In my opinion, politics and campaigning are two different things.

I just want it to be clear that I post it all. Send it and you'll reach this audience.

To take this audience for granted is a waste.

  7. My point about "Bad Politics" is a good politician represents all his constituents - you can't campaign to those who no longer believe in you or believe he cares about your neighborhoods.

This Guy has not accomplished much - he became mayor on the coattail of Willie Wells, who is loved in Chester and was a great councilwomen who worked for all - he should have learned from her. In addition, he got to Harrisburg due to the death of Senator Bell who everyone loved, both Republicans and Democrats. None of this came because he accomplished it on his own or because he was such a wonderdul politician. You might say, but he is intelligent. Well, that scares me the most - an intelligent politician that does not work for all of his people - it's dangerous.

    2. I agree Anonymous 10:24, she is bad politics. Pileggi may not be the popular choice in Chester but how can Ms. Worrell be trusted if she can't even give him credit for what he has done? And no, I am not going to list his achievements because if you read the paper you already know what he has accomplished. So Ms. Worrell are you woman enough to give him props for his accomplishments? Were you even a resident in 1998 when he was Mayor, if so then you know what he did as far as getting Chester back on the map. No, he was not perfect as no one is but he did a hell of a lot for this city whether you or anyone else wants to admit, just Google him. From what I can tell, he has not said one disparaging word about you. I want you to please list one accomplishment that I can give you credit for, just one and please dont tell me to read your profile, I have, its lacking to say the least. I find people with the biggest mouths have the least substance and if you truly listen, they have the least to say. You are an activist and nothing more. Pileggi has shown himself to be a gentleman, I wish I could say that you are acting like a lady. Someone in an earlier post that when you cant be positive you attack. Again, what impact have you made in the city of Chester, the only thing I have read about you in the paper is your runs for office as MJD and now Senator. Those who have read this blog patiently await a response.

  8. At least I was kind enough to give facts as to why I believe the other Guy is a bad politician, so be so kind and give me more than a blank statement "Pat Worrell is ba politics" and give some facts. Educate me!

  9. "He got to Harrisburg" because he won a Special Election! You make it seem as if he were appointed,he ran and won. I will say it again in the event you didnt understand me the first time, he was elected by the people of the 9th Senatorial District, thats how "he got to Harrisburg" . Now please be so kind as to educate yourself! I am not particularly a fan of the Daily Times but I do read it, and his accomplishments have been duly noted and based on those accomplishments, he was endorsed by the Daily Times. I am not making my decision to vote for him based soley on their recommendation but based on the facts that as a resident of Chester I have seen what he has done and more importantly, what he is capable of.

    ReplyDelete
  10. To Anonymous 12:58pm,to me it was as if he were appointed since during that time period the Republican Party was very strong and that Mr. Pileggi, the Chester Republican Boss, was who they decided would replace Senator Bell.

I do not support Charter Schools because it seems to be more about profit then about educating the kids. It has always been my gut feeling that when the school board ran out of money and the State Repulicans did not rescue Wanda Mann, also a republican, that something was going on - most likely about charter schools. Several months later, a gentlemen was appointed to recommend what Chester should do. Now while this gentlemen (a Republican and an advocate for charter schools) is working on recommendations, the State is working on approving laws which would benefit the Charter Schools (see Daily Times Editorial on 10/14/12). Can we almost guest what the gentlemen's recommendations to Chester will be? In addition, I do not support Voter's ID, it just rubs me wrong in regards to the civil rights of folks. We know that Senator Pileggi strongly supports both charter schools and Voter's ID, and personally I believe that he has had a lot of input in the writing of these laws.

I am not saying that Senator Pileggi is not intelligent nor am I saying that Pat Worrell should not put her qualifications out there (I looked at vote-PA.com and could not find her) we have the right to know. However, I am not just going to vote for Senator Pileggi just because he's intelligent. This might be overboard, but remember Hitler was also intelligent and look what he got away with - as a politician, he did not represent ALL THE PEOPLE only the people with blond hair. A lot of people (families) died in vain - and the Jewish people do not want us to forget it because it could happen again.

So, I guess what I am saying is that the Senator needs to get involved with the Chester community and convince some that he is making good decisions for Chester by involving the community in getting their input rather than telling the community what is good for them without community involvement. I don't even think that the Senator comes to Chester unless he is cutting a ribbon or groundbreaking.

  11. First off, I find it incredulous that you would reference Hitler and Pileggi in the same context. Are you serious? Yes, he was his party's choice the same way any other candidate is there party's choice, there's no difference, every party decides who they will pick to lead them. His party chose him and he won. You mention the schools, however you failed to mention that it was Pileggi that had 10.5 million restored to the budget that Corbett slashed so how can you assert that he does not represent the people of Chester? As far as him coming to Chester or not, you say you "don't even think", well isn't that just an assumption on your part. Do you have any idea how big the 9th District is? I get what you're saying regarding Voter ID to an extent. I'm glad we will not have to deal with it this election, however we live in the 21st Century and everybody 18 and older should have some form of identification. When I go to the doctor's or hospital I am asked to provide ID, if I rent a movie I am asked for ID. Maybe its just me, but I don't mind providing ID because I want to make sure you know I am who I say I am, its for my own protection. I realize everyone may not be able to afford it but there were and still are opportunities to get a FREE ID. What, would you like to see Pileggi just milling around Chester when he could actually be in Harrisburg making moves for the residents of the city of Chester, Delaware and Chester Counties? Oh, wait, I just described Representative Kirkland who just mills around Chester talking a good game but not delivering in Harrisburg, let us not forget that he represents more than Chester, and maybe if he went to Harrisburg Mayor Linder could run the city he was elected to run without interference. If you don't pick up the paper or Google him and see for yourself what he (Pileggi) has accomplished then you just don't want to be "convinced" that he is making good decisions. You've already made up your mind and refuse to be convince. Hitler, really?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Let's get focused - thought we were talking about Dominic Pileggi and Pat Worrell, how did Rep. Kirkland and John Linder get into this conversation - that's another separate conversation? Glad you feel comfortable carrying ID, but how about the next person like the older lady I read about in the paper that could'nt get an ID. She never had a driver's license and her birth certificate was destroyed in a fire - her granddaughter drove all around trying to get a Voter's ID for her and had no success. I felt bad for her, this is a lady that voted all her life now she was being denied. I just can't get around something like that. Pileggi and other Republicans put this Voter's ID law through to block President Obama from winning the Presidential Election, but look how it is destroying people. They can't win election honestly on their own, so pull something like that. I said my reference to Hitler might be overboard, just trying to strongly express how Senator Pileggi does things without the support of the community because he knows what's best for us. Also, the money that he got for the schools was nice but solved very little because the debt is too great. However, it made him look good while he works on his other plans - charter schools. I am glad you are a loyal supporter, however you should learn to spell Dominic's name correctly.

    ReplyDelete
  13. 1. The fact is he got the money.
    2. I specifically said I don't necessarily agree with voter id but for me I understand the importance of having id.
    3. Clearly, you don't see very well, I spelled his name correctly, you need to do your own spell check.
    4. You used Hitler to make a point and I used Kirkland and Linder to make mine. May the best man or woman win.

  15. 12:29 that's all you are able to conjure, you apparently are incapable of forming an idea or opinion so the only thing you're capable of is to resort to calling everyone from Mr. Roots to those of us who appreciate the opportunity to agree to disagree on this blogspot slaves. You can call me what you like, your lack of vocabulary would appear to most a sign of your total ineptness and lack of skill. It's sad when someone like you resorts to name calling simply because of differing opinions. Slavery is nothing to make light of and so you shouldn't be so loose with the word. I can think of what I would like to refer to you as, but when I grew up I did away with childish things.
