Seeking Your Opinion on Life & Crimes in Chester


Unless there is a car on fire outside my bedroom window, I generally leave the reporting of crime stories to the professionals.
This week, the Daily Times dedicated a lot of pen and pulp to the issues facing Chester regarding crime and solutions.
Share your opinions of the articles. 

Here’s a few statements to get you warmed up:
Do these articles help improve or destroy Chester’s image? Did you learn anything you didn’t already know? Will any solutions result from these articles? Were they trying to use Chester to sell more papers? Are there other areas in the county that deserve 3 days of newspaper crime focus? Did you read these articles to your kids? Did you mail them to your friends? Did you save them? Did you ignore them? Did they anger you? Was everything truthful or were the stories sensationalized? Is Chester really that bad?

    I would like to say that the articles were great. They were very well put together and better than most of the past work done in the Daily Times. Here comes the BUTT....Did anyone else notice that they were geared towards making Joe Bail a hero, one of us, on our side, a good guy and most of all geared towards making him look like he is the one to clean up Chester?

    Joe Bail is a for self person. It's he has no relationships with the community that he governs. He must have a friend at the daily times because there were several shootouts in Chester that did not make it to the paper. One time in Sun Village and the other in the William Penn Projects (42 shots fired). Another one on 21st. Remember the editor decides what to put in the paper.

    JOE BAIL AND THE MAYOR PUT IT OUT THERE HOW BAD IT IS......... ABOUT TIME SOMEONE HAD THE COURAGE TO PUT IT OUT........ AND YES HE IS GOING TO TRY TO CLEAN UP THE CITY FOR THE RESIDENTS....... GANGS DRUGS IS TAKING OVER THE CITY AND IT NEEDS TO BE STOPPED....... BROAD DAY LIGHT MURDERS WERE ARE THE WITTINESS?????????? GO CHESTER POLICE CLEAN THIS MESS UP THAT BULTER WOULD NOT........ GET CAUGHT WITH A BAG OF WEED GO TO JAIL...... NO LICENCE GET A TICKET....... JAY WALK GET A TICKET...... DRINK AND DRIVE GO TO JAIL........ JUDGES NEED TO GET ON BOARD................. GET CAUGHT WITH A GUN 1 MILLION BAIL........ GET OUT THERE PEOPLE AND LOOK FOR JOBS YOU CAN GO OUTSIDE CHESTER....... SELL DRUGS GOING TO JAIL.......... STAND UP PEOPLE AND CALL THE POLICE AND TELL THEM WHO ARE THE BAD PEOPLE........ TAKE PRIDE AND STOP LITTERING...........

      Why are you responding in CAPS? You are a Linder supporter but my concern about the having a chief that is not part of the community is this. You have a community that does not tell on each other and the last chief was part of the community and received a lot of tips because of it. Now how many tips do you think Bail will get from the community?

      None! No tips at all! So he sent my husband and the whole police department a memo where he ORDERED each and every one of the police officers to send him a memo with all the information that they have about crimes and criminals in the city to him. The proof is in the pudding.

    when was the last time u heard the commissioner or chief hit the streets with a few reporters,to show what this city is up against.they saw it first hand how things have changed over the years !! I commend the new leadership for doing what they.stop your whining,why is it when there is an crime the old saying is "WHERE ARE THE COPS AT !!!" you know who they are,they dont care about you why should u care about them or r u on the perpetrators payroll? that little piece of paper carries alot of weight.

    I just want to say the yes it it not easy to be responsible of the best known dept in the country but if you who has a problem with certain things and events that happened every day in our beutiful city come forward and and provide us with information so that it can be handled in the apropriete way even if u want to stay anonomous.
    If u took time to introduce you self to our commisioner you would actually stop being judgemental about him
    He is doing the best that he can

    Chief Austin hit the streets , he just didn't need to put his moves in the paper . He know the city and was recieving all type of tips . I like Linder , but tell me what have change with the crime in the city ? nothing .

    MEMOS ARE CALLED INTEL AND EVERY OFFICER SHOULD PROVIDE INFORMATION ON ALL CRIMES......... GO JOE CLEAN THIS CITY UP!!!!!!!
