The funding for the scholarships was provided through a donation by AETNA to the Bravo Foundation. Pictured in back, State Rep. Nick Micozzie (R-Delaware) and Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi (R-9) celebrate the scholarship funds at a Jan. 19 event held at the Widener Child Development Center.
AETNA and the Bravo Foundation awarded funds totaling $85,000 to families in Chester and Delaware counties to use for education at both the Widener Child Development Center in Chester, Pa., and the Nicholas School in Clifton Heights, Pa.
Widener Univ Dev Cntr receiving money for scholarships but city residents cant seem to get accepted because of the high tuition. Huuummmmm
ReplyDeleteHuh?
DeleteThere's 6 Chester grads on the football team. There's about a dozen undergrads from Chester who all got scholarships.
Where you getting your facts from?
This is not the University Stephan, this is the daycare center!
ReplyDeleteOops.
ReplyDeleteand I'd also like to reply that Noreen Nicholas-Yoder (the head of the Child Development Center) works her tail off to secure these scholarship donations so that city families who couldn't otherwise afford the tuition (last I checked $140 a week!) can send there children to this great program! The university doesn't do anything to secure these donations, she does all the work, but they take all the credit -_-
ReplyDeleteMost of the scholarships i've looked at require that the person applying is from some minority or belongs to a certain national organization. Does anyone know about scholarships that are essay contests and don't have these requirements? I'm a pretty good writer so i think that an essay contest would be my best shot at getting a scholarship for college. I'm a junior right now and i live in northern virginia if that helps. Thanks for any advice!
