Regardless of your political affiliation, here’s something we all can fight for.
Dozens of Chester residents gathered Monday afternoon at Chester Eastside Ministries to discuss ways they can pressure Gov. Tom Corbett to ensure the Chester Upland School District will remain open.
The residents agreed to demonstrate outside of the Chester Upland administration building and the federal court building in Philadelphia at 7 a.m. today (Tuesday). The latter is where a suit the district filed against the state will play out.

If you can’t join the demonstration, check out the Delcotimes.com special Tuesday night edition of Live from the Newsroom at 7pm, where they’ll be talking about the crisis in the Chester Upland School District.
Hosts Gil Spencer and Phil Heron will be joined by community activists Desire Grover, Tina Johnson and Rev. Bernice Warren who are leading today’s demonstration.
They are three community activists fighting for the state to adequately fund the district without opting to declare the district financially-distressed and bring in a state board of control.
