Come to the Annual Meeting of Delaware County Cooperative Extension and learn how you can connect to sources of locally produced food right here in Delaware County.
The November 15 meeting is free and open to the public. The meeting will be held from 7:30 – 9:00 pm at the Redwood Community Playhouse in Upland Park (280 6th St., Brookhaven PA).
The informative panel will share information on urban farming efforts, community supported agriculture, family community gardens and hunger/food insecurity issues in the county.
Representatives of several organizations will have displays, staff and information about their services. Organizations include:
- Hillside Farm CSA
- Indian Orchards
- Health Promotion Council
- Farm to City
- Wolff’s Apple House
- Maisie’s Farm and Conservation Center
In addition, information will be available for programs sponsored by Penn State Cooperative Extension:
- 4-H Agriculture Projects (including sale information on Heritage Turkeys for Thanksgiving or December holidays)
- Urban Gardening (supported by the Penn State Master Gardeners)
- Nutrition Education (funded by USDA and Pennsylvania Food Stamp Program)and more.
