Crozer Library seeking Friends

L-R: Joanne Rebold, Vice President, Friends of the Upper Darby Township Pulic Libaries. David Belanger, Director, Delaware County Library System.  Joan Back, President, Friends of the Ridley Township Public Library. Deborah Dorshimer, President, Friends of Friends of the Upper Darby Township Public Librarys

A few weeks back, the Crozer Library was looking for a few new Friends.
A Friend of the J. Lewis Crozer Library is a group of regular people who join together to make the library a better place for everyone by supporting and increasing the programs available to adults; make decisions on things like new furniture upgrades; and select more attractive items for members to enjoy inside the library and to borrow for home use, especially for school aged children.
When you are a Friend of the Library, you creatively make decisions, conduct programs, and enhance the library independent of the library’s Board of Directors mission, but, of course, not contrary to it.
To help launch the Friends of the Library membership kickoff meeting, a panel representing area libraries attended to share what how their library Friends programs are progressing.
Each panel member expresses shock and appreciation (and a hint of jealousy) at the number of people who attended the Crozer Library kickoff. Apparently, their libraries have more ‘financial’ members than active members who come out and do the work.
It’s not too late to become a Friend of the Library. Individual memberships are $15 and for students $5.
Get involved with your library. It’s a vital resource in the City of Chester and you can help make it better.
