Had it been Philadelphia NAACP President J. Whyatt Mondesire granted the same 35 minutes last Thursday to speak with President Barack Obama and not NAACP President Ben Jealous and Urban League President Marc Morial, the conversation would have been about the same issue — creating jobs in the African-American community.
“The deficit is not the number one problem,” said Mondesire, in Los Angeles for the NAACP’s annual convention, “The number one problem is jobs and bettering the economy.” California is the perfect place for Mondesire to make such a claim.
