Kirkland: We have to educate our kids

Was I the only one who didn't know St. Rep. Kirkland was having a forum on education yesterday?

  1. Help me here! Where has Representative Kirkland been for the last 6 months? It obviously has not been Harrisburg. I find no record of him making any comments regarding this in Harrisburg, no alternate bills, no protest, no admendments. I think this is just grandstanding. I need the rep to step up in Harrisburg. His voice should be there, not doing secrets meeting for press coverage after the budget is already done.

  2. On April 20, St. Rep. Kirkland hosted a hearing in Chester on Senate Bill 1 with the House Democratic Policy Committee. I don't think it was well attended. Senate Bill 1 has to do with school vouchers.

  3. I'm sure he filled it with 1 or 2 of his supporters who let's him lead them blindly by the nose....@ Anony 3:59pm he does nothing but grand stand too continue to be re-elceted and it seems to continue to work because these herring in this cityy keep doing the same thing following him right of the cliff of un-informed...@ Stefan NO you are not the only 1 who didnt know everyone who could question him and have an opinion didn't know. I wish the people in this city would stop letting people who could care less about us give them their opinions.... Thad should have been voted out years ago....and WHY DO THEY KEEP VOTING PILLEGI IN OFFICE?

  4. Not sure where you been looking but he made some comments in Harrisburg a few weeks ago. Here's a link to the video.

Not many people knew about the forum but that is a problem in this city in general. There is a serious communication problem. I found out about the school board budget meetings by accident - no notification prior to the meetings and I received the press release at one of the meetings.

Some may not agree with Rep. Kirkland solutions but he is the only person I have heard publicly offer a solution to this budget crisis. Not even the school board offered a solution, except to say that they are working diligently to fix the situation but never offered a solution despite being asked several times.

Pileggi is the one that needs to be voted out not Kirkland!

  5. Imagine me frantically waving my hands.

This blog is a great place to make public announcements. Most submissions are posted within hours for free.

People can view on their computer or cell phone. They can subscribe to the newsletter or follow on Twitter. I can send them to Facebook too if you like.

I used to keep a calendar on the site so events could display on every page of the blog without having to scoll through posts for info.

But, no one wanted to pay the $1 to post their events which would display from the moment they submitted it to the day of the event.

I'm not sure if the communications problem is not wanting to communicate or not wanting people to know stuff.
