GOVERNMENT WANTS TO “BAN” MENTHOL CIGARETTES

(blackmediaSCOOP) The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) wants to ban MENTHOL cigarettes. Menthol cigarette use is very high amongst teens and blacks.
80% of blacks and 50% of Hispanics smoke menthol cigarettes. The FDA will utilize a new report to help determine whether or not the agency will ban or restrict the use of mint-flavored or menthol cigarettes.
Based on the given data from Euromonitor International, menthol cigarettes account for almost one-third of the $83 billion annual cigarette sales in United States. A public meeting will be held this Thursday and Friday. The complete report will be submitted to FDA on March 23.
