1. Philadelphia Imhotep Charter (23-3) (PPL/District 12 AA)
The Panthers got 16pts from 6-5 Sr Ameen Tanksley, 11pts from 6-6 Soph Brandon Austin and 10pts from 6-3 Sr David Appolon in a 51-29 win over Philadelphia Prep Charter In the Public League Round of 16. Imhotep blasted a good AAA Philadelphia Boys; Latin 85-46 in the Public League Quarterfinals and will now play Philadelphia Electrical on Tuesday @ Southern in the Public League Semifinals. Tanksley led with 20pts, including scoring his 1000th point in the 4th quarter on a 3-pointer. 6-6 Sr Earl Brown scored 11pts and 6-8 SR Eric Copes had 10pts and 9rebs. Six other players scored between six and nine points for the Panthers.
2. Chester (22-1) (District 1 AAAA)
The Clippers had no trouble in blasting Perkiomen Valley 70-36 in the District 1 AAAA Round of 32. Four players scored in double-figures led by 5-11 Sr Maurice Nelson with 18pts, 6-5 Soph Rondae Jefferson with 13pts and 6-3 Jr Erikk Wright and 6-0 Soph Darius Robinson with 10pts apiece. Next up is Springfield-Delco on Tuesday @ home in the District 1 AAAA Round of 16.
3. Philadelphia Neumann-Goretti (19-4) (PCL/District 12 AAA)
The Saints advance to the Catholic League Semifinals on Wednesday against Roman Catholic @ the Palestra with a 63-39 rout of Monsignor Bonner in the Catholic League Quarterfinals. 6-2 Freshman Ja'Quan Newton, 6-2 Jr La'Quan Coaxum (10rebs) and 6-4 Soph Johnny Davis (14rebs) all scored 12pts, while 5-9 Sr Lamin Fulton had 10pts.
4. Council Rock North (22-1) (District 1 AAAA)
Indians score just two points in the first quarter but went on to a 43-28 victory over Great Valley in a District 1 AAAA Round of 32 game. The Indians placed two players in double figures to lead the attack. 6-4 Jr Arron Goodman scored a game-high 14pts, while Jr pg Aaron Morgan added 12pts. Council Rock North will now host Wissahickon in a District 1 AAAA Round of 16 game.
5. Radnor Archbishop Carroll (19-4) (PCL/District 12 AAA)
6-3 Sr Juan'ya Green tied a Catholic League playoff record with 39pts as the Patriots topped visiting St. Joseph's Prep, 72-65. The Niagara signee shot 12-for-16 from the floor (two treys) and 13-for-15 at the line. He also notched six rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and one steal in the Catholic League Quarterfinal. Carroll will now play LaSalle on Wednesday at the Palestra in the Catholic League Semifinal.
6. Philadelphia Electrical Charter (20-3) (PPL/District 12 AAA)
The Chargers defeated Philadelphia Dobbins Tech 77-61 in the Public League Round of 16 as 6-3 Sr Carrington Ward had 24pts, 6-7 Jr David George 18pts, 11rebs, 6blks and 5-10 Sr Devante Chance 12pts. 6-4 Jr Emmanuel Brown added 8pts and 12rebs. Then in the Public League Quarterfinals, Devante Chance nailed a three-ball with 8 seconds left in a 59-57 win over Philadelphia Vaux in overtime. Chance led with 19pts. He was 7-for-11 (three treys) from the field and also collected seven assists and three steals. Ward, added 12pts and David George had 13 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. They will now play Imhotep Charter on Tuesday @ Southern in the Public League Semifinals.
7. Plymouth-Whitemarsh (19-4) (District 1 AAAA)
Blasted Interboro 78-42 in District 1 AAAA Round of 32 as four players scored in double-figurers led by 6-1 Sr Marcus Badger with 18pts, 6-7 Sr Jaylen Bond 17pts, 6-0 Sr Stephon Baker 11pts and 6-1 Sr Sam Pygatt 10pts. Next up, hosts Pennridge on Tuesday in District 1 AAAA Round of 16.
8. Penn Wood (16-7) (District 1 AAA)
The Patriots broke away from a 21-20 first quarter lead with a 29-7 second quarter and raced to a 90-65 win over Conestoga in the District 1 AAAA Round of 32. 6-5 Sr Aaron Brown 24pts, 6-5 Sr Akil Anderson 17pts and 5-11 Jr Malcom Richardson 15pts led Penn Wood. Will now travel to West Chester Rustin on Tuesday in a District 1 AAAA Round of 16 game.
9. Shaler (21-1) (WPIAL/District 7 AAAA)
The Titans did not play this week. They open with Plum in the WPIAL AAAA Round of 16 on Wednesday at a site TBD.
10. Reading (21-3) (District 3 AAAA)
Red Knights won their fourth consecutive and 19th overall Berks Conference Title with wins over Wyomissing 60-39, Schuylkill Valley 83-69 and Reading Central Catholic 58-50 @ Reading’s Sovereign Center before a crowd of over 7,000 which may be the biggest in the state this year. In the three games 6-2 Sr Taeshan Huffman scored 51pts, 6-5 Sr Demerik Weglinski scored 48 points. 6-1 Soph Jalan Branford scored 40pts and 5-10 Sr Delvon Brown scored 32pts. For more details see Berks Conference Tournament on the District 3 page. The Red Knights will host Lancaster McCaskey on Wednesday in the District 3 AAA Round of 16.
