World Class Martin Luther King, Jr. bust unveiled in Chester

One of the city’s best kept secrets was unveiled yesterday in a sitting park carved out of Chester’s Veterans Memorial Park.
The Martin Luther King sitting park project seemed to take forever to complete, but finally, last year, the benches, brick work, and landscaping came together to create an attractive area.
Strangely, a tired little tomb stone symbolized the park was dedicated to Dr. King, which seemed like an insult considering his legacy.
Yet, all the little annoyances were forgiven and forgotten yesterday when the covers came off of what may be the most impressive MLK statue in the world.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t attend the unveiling, but when I received the photos via email shortly after the event, I was floored.
The city kept saying that IT was coming, but they were very tight lipped as to what the IT was.
The statue is long overdue, but more than worth the wait.
It has to be added to one of Chester’s key assets.
