Chester Pride at Widener

Widener University had a contest to come up with a new name for their mascots.

The winning names are ‘Chester’ and ‘Melrose’.

When you pair ‘Chester’ with their already established school moniker of ‘Pride’, you end up with ‘Chester Pride’.

  1. AKA! Also known as C-Pride which has been around for a long time now. Can they just take a name like that? Is there a trademark on it or is it just assumed? This needs to be looked into!

  2. C-Pride is not Chester Pride. Two different spellings. I doubt if they are trademarked.

  4. A trade mark applies to an exact spelling. You can't trademark a meaning.
