Chester Education Foundation symposium highlights American Education Week


In recognition of American Education Week – Nov. 14-20, 2010 -- the Chester Education Foundation (CEF) is presenting the city’s first Chester Business and Education Symposium on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at Harrah’s Chester Casino and Racetrack. The Chester Business Association and the Rotary Club of Chester have joined with Chester Education Foundation in sponsoring the event.

Acting Chester Upland School District Superintendent, Dr. Joyce Wells, will provide an update about expanded opportunities in secondary education, including two new high schools and career and technical programs at Chester High School.

Dr. Wells will be joined by other panelists who will discuss workforce development and higher education initiatives through the Chester Education Foundation and other district partners.

Chester Education Foundation, a local education fund, is a non-profit organization created in 1988 by a consortium of local and state leaders representing businesses, foundations, higher education and the community. Its mission is to support educational excellence and promote community revitalization in the Chester Upland School District.
