NBC 10 looking for positive Chester stories

In the next 30 days, NBC 10 is looking for interesting stories in communities of color. They have been following this blog and enjoy the positive Chester stories, but many of them are posted after they occur.

If you have a positive activity scheduled in the next month, email me at ccityblogger@gmail.com with details.

I'll pass them on to the NBC 10 correspondent seeking this information.

  1. You should check out the Widener Partnership Charter School. They have done wonderful things for the children of Chester and are rarely in the public light. The school has made AYP for the past 2 years, which were their only eligible years for the state testing, and has numerous programs such as music, art, gym, drama, and spanish classes for k-5 students. The school also has after school Karate, Flute lessons, and Safety Patrol. WPCS students are often seen around Chester in their maroon and gray uniforms.

  2. Have to agree with the previous poster, in addition the WPCS has made Title 1 this year first year we are elgilable for that also, I have a child at WPCS and this school is not only educating the children but they are also reaching out to the Parents through the Parent Academy....I could go on and on but Stephan you should visit the school and do an indetph story and give the infoo to submit the positive stories to NBC10 because I ould gladly submit this story, not to mention all the business owners that reside in the city trying to make a difference.
