(New York) The name is growing and the Sun keeps shining brightly for this Chester native and R&B Church Girl Denise White, aka Avery*Sunshine.
Ms. Sunshine gets the nod for the 2010 SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards http://www.soultracks.com/2010-awards-nominees in just about every category except Duo or Group, Male and Album of the Year.
There are 20 nominees in each category and within the next 8 days the voting begins and narrows the choices down to top 7. The Readers will then vote for the winners. The Awards will be broadcast on Monday evening December 6th.

A singer, songwriter, pianist is deeply rooted in Gospel. Born and raised in Chester, PA to Irvin and Ruth White, she now resides in Atlanta where her parents have recently packed up their West 7th Street house to join her and the grandkids.
Avery considers both places home with many fans eagerly anticipating her first full length. In fact- when it comes to Philly, Avery always has her finger on the pulse with all the newcomers on the scene and she’s embraced by so many there. Performing in Philly is ‘coming home’. Similarly in Atlanta she gets the same response/support.
Avery has many appreciators including bassist Christian McBride, Chaka Kahn, Roy Ayers, Jennifer Holliday and others. Christian McBride plays on the album and Roy Ayers is featured. Also well-known drummer Lil’ John Roberts plays all over the project.
