Who remembers when BET tried to do news? There was BET News in 1988 with Ed Gordon. In 1996 Tavis Smiley first became a household name on BET Tonight. After he was fired from that job to really blow up elsewhere, Ed Gordon came back. Michelle Miller and Jacque Reid gave BET Nightly News a shot before BET just gave up on news in 2005.
Well, if you haven’t already noticed, BET is giving it another try with Weekly with Ed Gordon on Sundays. The season premiere is Sunday, October 10 at noon.
