Update on Chester Youth Soccer Teams

We have 4 teams:

    U-15 Girls

    U-15 Boys

    U-12 Girls

    U-11 Boys

We have been practicing 2 times a week since the beginning of July and we will continue to do so until the league starts in September.  We will have a preseason the week of August 9th.  So far, the kids have been learning the basic skills needed to be a soccer player.  We work a lot on technical skills.  However, during our pre-season they will be learning the tactical aspects of the game as well as conditioning.

Our fist games will be on August 14th when 2 of our teams will enter in the Annual Ridley United Soccer Tournament.  The tournament will is made up of over 100 teams throughout Region I (Maine to Virginia).  We will also have teams playing in the second annual Futbolito tournament in Chester on August 21st. 

Our season begins on September 11th and ends November 14th.  We will be playing teams from all over Southeast PA and parts of Delaware.

As far as coaches we have 4 head coaches: Jeremy McMillan, Justin Pines, Kennard Pierce, Neal Regino.  We have a lot of support from Ridley United as Andy Raudabaugh, the president of Ridley Soccer has been assisting with every practice along with 3 assistant coaches.  We also have participation from the Chester High School captains, Keith and Mike (not sure their last names).  I asked them to come out one day and they have been to every practie since.  Therefore, each practice we have about 10-12 coaches supporting the 4 teams.

Mrs. Trippley is our "club mom" as she handles registration and works with the parents so that we can focus on coaching.  Each practice we have at least 40 kids, even though they are optional until the summer is over.
