- Fred Martens, former executive director of the Crime Commission, said Ed ran the commission's investigation of gambling and political corruption in Chester, which sent a number of people to prison.
In interviews with Melvin Wade for ‘Black Industrialist-The Melvin Wade Story’ he shares his stories of being brought before the crime commission during that period when he was questioned for taking bribes as a bail bondsman. You have to read to the book to learn how it turned out for Melvin.
