Brownsville Brooklyn doesn't call it State of Emergency

The New York Times put together a video showing how the police do it in Brownsville.
They call it Stop and Frisk, we call it State of Emergency. They call it Impact Zones, we call it Hot Zones.
Some of the stories from the Brownsville residents sound very familiar to the Chester residents.

  1. The video was very interesting and a good comparison to Chester, a much better comparison than to Kingston.

It seems that the police in Brownsville have taken serious action against crime in spite of infringing on the rights of the innocent.

The people of Brownsville also seems to have conflicted feelings about the police presents. They want the police around because they help but they fear the police because innocent people get harassed.

Some people in Chester may have the same conflicted feelings about their police. I guess if you are in a state of emergency, conflicting feelings about the police is a given. Maybe this is a universal problem.

  2. ...and then there are folks from places like Philly, Brownsville Brooklyn, and Chicago who would love to live in a place where there are over 340 days a year without a shooting. Chester would be a Paradise to millions of people.

  3. I agree. Sometimes I don't know what all the fuss is about Chester. It's the typical American urban city to me. Some cities have it much worse than Chester. We all have to pitch in and make life better for all of us. People have to realize we are all in this thing together.
