Rayiana Johnson is setting the pace for sprinters throughout the state


Rayiana Johnson, a Chester High school senior, may be the best high school female sprinter in southeastern Pennsylvania,and is among the best in the country. Johnson has a chance to do something rare this spring, when she runs in the PIAA Class AAA state championship: repeat as a dual-winner in the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

Schools such as Houston, South Florida, Syracuse, Georgia and Pittsburgh have all extended scholarship offers. She is currently ranked 14th in the nation in both the 100 and the 200.
