Is a Blogger a Black Logger?

When I first heard the term Blogger, I thought it was short for a Black Logger.

Now that I am a blogger, I’m trying to figure out what this phenomenon is all about.

When the Daily Times invited me to become one of their bloggers, I jumped at the opportunity but had no idea what to do other than write. To come to grips with this thing, I did what most of us old people do, I asked my son.

He’s been blogging for some time as a reviewer of books, movies and TV shows and it’s interesting to read the comments he gets. I met another lady who has a blog with her girl friends who are all degreed journalist but have careers in other fields.

I never followed anyone’s blog and only read Daily Times editor Phil Heron’s blog because he plugs the stories on Twitter. If something looks interesting I take an occasional peek at his blog.

So, forgive me if the C-City Blogger experience is sort of bland right now. Lately, I’ve had some time to study this blogging thing from the so-called experts and have learned a few things that I look to incorporate over time.

I’m amazed how something can be so big and still be unheard of by so many people as blogs are with much of the population who are not connected to the hippest Internet happenings.

Blogging is really a big deal and Phil Heron has made it plain to those of us blogging for the Daily Times that it’s only going to get bigger. Like a drill sergeant, he’s charged us to ‘Be All That We Can Be’ with our blogs and to use every resource available at the Daily Times to make it happen.

To those of you new to blogs, hang in there with me as we ride this rocket to the stratosphere together.

Even a Black Logger had to start somewhere.

  1. Stefan, I enjoy reading your blog and want to thank you for having upcoming events listed on your page. This is a great resource for Chester residents to see what's going on in our City and to become part of the community.
I hope your "challenge" to politicians is accepted and that we will see how our City representatives are working for the greater good. If they are?
