I was quickly told that I could not gain entry into the library without paying the $15. I asked when did this begin and the librarian asnswered just recently. I was a little perplexed because I had used the library to study in the past while on break from PSU or taking classes at DCCC. I actually went to Widener because I needed a quite place to study for my nursing exam and I didn't feel like driving to Neumann where I was a student. So, I asked her about visiting students and then she said,"oh yes you can gain entry once you have this intercollegiate agreement form signed by your institution" even though I had my Student Id on me, I was told to take the form and get it signed first. I took my form and went to Swarthmore College library with no problem. It actually worked out because I used the track after I was finish studying. I did eventually get the form signed and asked Neumann's librarian if they use these forms and they said not really. I took my form back to put on file at Widener and was reminded that I still could not use the library during mid-terms of finals and no computer access. Needless to say I never went back, I was never a big fan of Widener and that just sealed the deal.Peacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12494184085356281438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4086135269585425380.post-60376476351399202412014-01-18T07:04:00.783-05:002014-01-18T07:04:00.783-05:00you first good comment you first good comment Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4086135269585425380.post-15850831302366890892014-01-17T05:42:06.597-05:002014-01-17T05:42:06.597-05:00Widener makes money from the students who pay $40,...Widener makes money from the students who pay $40,000 a year. Just because you're from Chester you believe you should be able to take a seat in the library from a student there to study? Too many Chester folks don't want to pay for anything.Stefan Rootshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01507926342159190494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4086135269585425380.post-35536802657938342402014-01-16T13:27:36.057-05:002014-01-16T13:27:36.057-05:00I agree 100% I will not pay Widener a dime this Un...I agree 100% I will not pay Widener a dime this University is in Chester making money here but we have to pay to use the library, Please Move the UniversityAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4086135269585425380.post-65007062001982201952014-01-15T05:40:25.666-05:002014-01-15T05:40:25.666-05:00I bet some of their library staff don't know a...I bet some of their library staff don't know about the policy.

What's so great about a Crozer Library card is that it gives you access to all the libraries in the Delaware County Library System. The Swarthmore Free library rivals a college library. They deliver books back and forth between libraries so you can get everything you need at Crozer Library within 2 days. We should be outraged that the city stopped funding the library. It sends a horrible message.Stefan Rootshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01507926342159190494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4086135269585425380.post-23858727067794784052014-01-14T18:36:17.837-05:002014-01-14T18:36:17.837-05:00I personally visited the Library in 2012 on a Satu...I personally visited the Library in 2012 on a Saturday to make copies for a seminar for NCBW and was told I could not use the Library if I was not a student. I told the Librarian my Nephew was a student and Graduated and also works as a Lieutenant on the Security Force there. She said sorry. She never mentioned 15.00 fee which I would not pay anyway since I get A Free Library card at the Free Library of Philadelphia. A much bigger institution of people and very diverse and they do not charge a fee. You also have a Speaker's series.. I saw Wyclef Jean at a book signing at the Library and he performed. Now that was worth the 15.00 ticket. WHat do you get for 15.00 except access. For some without means to get around this may fit the bill. The quetsion is how recent was this implemented. I can definitely pinpoint the date and Saturday I was turned away. Thanks for researching and clarifying Widener's Library new position on Resident's of Chester Access. As a matter of fact, I posted on FB the next day.Peace Be Upon You. dmjAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10356437938119718877noreply@blogger.com
